Chile: Gallery of Protest Against LGE

Despite the strong opposition of teachers and students, the Chilean chamber of deputies approved on June 18th a government-sponsored education reform bill that critics say does little to amend existing inequalities in access and quality of education in the public school system.

For more than a month, thousands of high school and university students have taken over classrooms, barricated entrances and taken to the streets to protest the General Education Law — LGE by the Spanish acronym.

After the approbation in the congress, the barricades and demos took the streets, and this is a gallery, made by the OurWar collective, of a week of strong protests againt the LGE.
