On September 16 of last year Robert Jordan, the writer of “The Wheel of Time”

Series died in Charleston, SC. He was America’s highest selling fantasy writer, and was

in the middle of writing the final book in the Wheel of Time series. In addition he wrote

historical fiction novels set during the revolutionary war, and wrote for the iconic Conan

the Barbarian series. After two years of battling with amyloidosis, he died among his

family peacefully and respectfully. Despite selling over thirty million copies of his

books, and notoriety around the globe, very little is known of Jordan due to his privacy.

In July of 2007 myself and two other filmmakers interviewed Robert Jordan (His real

name was Jim Rigney) about his life, the result was the last time he appeared on camera.

The film will focus on his life, telling of his early life in Charleston, his tours of duty in

Vietnam, his relationship with his wife and step son, the creation of The Wheel of Time

series, the success of the series, his battle with amyloidosis, his death, and the completion

of the final book in the Wheel of Time series “A Memory of Light”.

The film will compose of new interviews with his family and friends. We will

use achieve photographs from his family. Then we will be involved with Harriet Rigney

with how she completes the last book.

This Inital money is to help the ball roll with starting out, this money will help pay for the interviews with people like

Brandon Sanderson, Professor Michael Livingston, Wilson Grooms, and many others connected to Jim. This will also cover travel costs,

and tape stock funding. To see my other documentary go to the link below.
